Honey's Birthday

Today is Honey's Birthday, oh and yes it is Walker's Moma's Birthday as well. Honey and Nonna wanted to go and see the newly renovated Strand and today it was open for self-guided tours. They use to go to the Strand when they were younger. They remember seeing Gone with the Wind and Officer Don from the Popeye's Club - Honey was clear that the Gone with the Wind she saw was not the first release :)

Great Aunt Elaine and Aunt Jen went along as well and they all had lunch the The Vineyard Cafe. The Vineyard Cafe is like a tearoom they have sandwiches and soups. Honey and Nonna went here before when all of Nonna's friends from California came to visit. Honey and Nonna tried for 25 - 30 minutes to figure out what Nonna had when she was there before. So I'm going to try and tell you what they had so there will not be any confusion next time:
Nonna - Lentil soup, Vineyard Salad and scones (one of each flavor - cinnamon, blueberry and cranberry orange) - sweet peach tea
Honey - Butternut Squash soup, Vineyard Salad (shared with Aunt Jen) and Chicken Salad on croissant and scones (3 cranberry orange) - sweet peach tea.

Then they did a little shopping - OK Aunt Jen did a lot to of shopping at Doodlebugz and Great Aunt Elaine did a little shopping.

Preplanning for the Supper Club

First let's make one thing clear everyone knows that Nonna and Honey love to eat out and try new restaurants. They also belong to a supper club which includes The Cornwells, The Farrs, The Coueys, The Striplins and of course the Dilbecks and Lees. They try to get together once a month for dinner at someones house then every 3/4 months they try a restaurant. Well as you can imagine the ladies must first get together to have a planning meeting and were else should that be but at a restaurant. This time they went to the Marietta Dinner.

October on the Square

Nonna and Honey like to spend time at the Marietta Square. You never know what you might see while you are there. They use to always eat at Three Bears Cafe but it has closed down in December. But because these post are so far behind these pictures were actually taken when TBC was still open.
